Binance Provides Financial Support to Moroccan Users

Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has announced its support for Morocco, which was shaken by a magnitude 7 earthquake. Binance Charity, the charitable arm of Binance, announced that a total of $3 million worth of BNB (BNB) will be distributed to users affected by the earthquake in Morocco.

The giant cryptocurrency exchange Binance has announced that it will distribute BNB free of charge to users residing in Morocco who have completed their identity verification. The identification of users will be based on the Address Proof completed in the region before September 9, 2023.

Approximately 70,000 Moroccan Binance users who are estimated to meet the specified requirement will receive BNB worth $100 per person. A total of $3 million worth of BNB will be distributed as part of the provided support. Binance Charity has also opened a public donation address for anyone to make donations. We will donate every donation received at this address to an authorized NGO to help people in need. Donations will be accepted in BNB, BTC, ETH, USDC, USDT, or BUSD.

Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the founder and CEO of Binance, commented on the donation campaign: “The impact of the earthquake on the Moroccan people is devastating. We hope to be able to provide some support to those affected by the earthquake. We kindly request that those who receive these donations but are unaffected by the earthquake transfer the funds to those who need them the most.”

The Earthquake Disaster that Struck Morocco

The magnitude 7 earthquake that occurred in Morocco is increasing in magnitude day by day. The earthquake, with its epicenter in the El-Huz region, which is connected to the city of Marrakech and occurred on September 8 at 23:10 local time, has officially claimed the lives of 2,681 people and injured 2,501 people.

The earthquake also affected cities such as Rabat, the capital of Morocco, as well as Casablanca, Meknes, Agadir, and Fes. The number of casualties is increasing every day in a wide area affected by the earthquake.
