Cryptocurrencies are paving the way for the future of Web3, and giants of Web2 are already finding ways to secure their place in this future. The emergence of a new and decentralized internet narrative based on blockchain has led companies like Google to sit down with new crypto partners. The latest announcement comes today, as reported by Fortune Crypto.
Google and Cryptocurrency Partnership
Google Cloud oracle is a validator created for the purpose of being used by all LayerZero applications. It will be configured as the default option starting from September 19th. This means that every message in LayerZero will benefit from a secure infrastructure operated by one of the most security-focused organizations worldwide. In other words, Google Cloud will validate the authenticity of every message within LayerZero by default.
Google Cloud has previously entered into similar node agreements with many cryptocurrencies. They have collaborated on various aspects, including easy node setup and activation of subnets, for blockchain ventures. However, we cannot say that these agreements directly involve Google in cryptocurrencies. In fact, it is simply a different Cloud service. The hosting of crypto platforms’ internet addresses on Google servers (most Google partnership agreements should be interpreted in this way) allows users to run nodes here, which is similar.
However, Google’s announcement today may be more significant as they are directly operating the LayerZero validator themselves.
