The Aave team announced on their official website that they have decided to update the current V3 version of the protocol. Accordingly, V4 will be introduced as an update that increases modularity, reduces governance burden, and optimizes capital efficiency. Innovations like the protocol’s stablecoin, GHO, will also be featured in the protocol.
The proposal presented to the DAO also includes ideas for risk management tools and a more efficient transaction engine. According to the announcement made by the team, these developments are designed to enhance user experience and protocol security.
Aave Labs proposes to develop V4 as part of a broader Aave 2030 goal, transparently involving the community in feedback and testing phases, with a timeline extending from the first development in the second quarter of 2024 to a full release by mid-2025.
