Annual inflation is a significant issue for altcoin price performance, experienced by many crypto investors. For instance, XRP Coin’s supply increased so rapidly that even if it reached a market cap record in 2021, its unit price would be around $1.35. On the other hand, we have seen the difficulties faced by altcoins like AVAX, which struggle with double-digit inflation. So, which altcoins will unlock tokens in the coming days?
Optimism (OP)
As volumes weaken, the impact of altcoin token unlocks on prices increases exponentially with potential sales. Those concerned about deeper dips for BTC are creating a risk of sales at current prices. On the other hand, in bull markets, token unlocks should have positive results on prices in the medium term.
The team, investors, and other token holders try to take steps that will impact the price to sell at higher levels. However, this is not the case now, as things have been going in reverse in crypto for a while. After a broad introduction, let’s start with OP Coin. On July 15, 10 million tokens will be released, and the current circulating supply is 1.12 billion OP Coin. The new tokens will be used for project rewards to develop the ecosystem and may be sold.
Starknet (STRK) and Arbitrum (ARB)
Again on Monday, STRK Token, with a supply of 1.3 billion, will release 64 million new tokens. The Ethereum ZK-Rollup Layer-2 solution will deliver these tokens to early investors and project developers.
The Arbitrum network, developed under the auspices of Offchain Labs, is one of the largest networks in terms of total locked value. It also has a circulating supply of 2.9 billion tokens. On Tuesday, 92.6 million ARB Coins will be released. These tokens, distributed to the team, advisors, and investors, will enter circulation while the price has not strayed far from ATL levels.
Axie Infinity (AXS) and ApeCoin (APE)
Both altcoins have suffered significant losses amid the waning interest in the metaverse and GameFi sectors. AXS Coin will release 2.45 million tokens and has a circulating supply of 147.8 million. The token unlock aims to attract more players to the platform by distributing staking rewards.
APE Coin will release 15.6 million tokens on July 17. The current circulating supply is 674.6 million, and the price has weakened due to increased supply and lack of interest.
