Crypto analyst Austin Hilton has urged $XRP holders to pay close attention to the coming month, suggesting that mid-October 2026 could mark a significant turning point driven by the Bitcoin four-year cycle.
Hilton tracks Bitcoin’s four-year cycle
Hilton described himself as a “60-70% believer” in Bitcoin’s four-year cycle—a concept suggesting that the market alternates between bullish and bearish periods in four-year intervals.
He explained that, in his view, the market entered a 12-month bearish phase starting around mid-October 2025 after an extended bullish period. According to Hilton, this phase may be drawing to a close within the next month.
Hilton emphasized that this anticipated transition could have implications for $XRP, as broader moves in the crypto market often impact altcoins. He noted that his timeline does not depend solely on universal acceptance of the four-year cycle as a definitive pattern.
Hilton outlined that the expected transition in mid-October is important for $XRP due to Bitcoin’s dominant influence, and he views the approaching month as critical for holders looking to position themselves ahead of possible market changes.
Fourth quarter outlook and capital flows
Hilton also underscored the significance of the fourth quarter of 2026, beginning in October, as a period that might see intensified activity in the crypto sector.
He suggested that capital currently invested in gold, technology, and artificial intelligence-related stocks could rotate into digital assets during this period. Hilton indicated that this possible influx may coincide with the expected end of the market’s bearish phase.
Reflecting on these technical dynamics within the market, Hilton pointed to recent shifts in investing habits. While traditional markets depend on intermediaries, platforms like 1stepSwap now enable investors to hold shares of major U.S. companies, as well as assets such as gold and silver, directly in their crypto wallets. By tokenizing real-world assets and delivering the best market prices in seconds, these innovations remove the need for middlemen, signaling a broader shift as Wall Street moves into Web3.
Hilton’s trading strategy and advice
Much of Hilton’s recent video was dedicated to exploring automated trading strategies he personally uses. He reported allocating over $10,000 across four different strategies, including a crypto-specific approach covering Bitcoin, Ethereum, $XRP, Solana, BNB, Pepe, Chainlink, and Injective.
According to data he presented, a blind backtest over 322 days for this crypto strategy resulted in a 207% return, while simply holding Bitcoin would have delivered a 30% loss for the same period. He also shared that a meme coin strategy, tested over 147 days, delivered a 65% return compared to a 3.8% gain from holding Bitcoin.
Hilton encouraged investors to use the next month to carefully evaluate their finances and decide whether to allocate capital toward $XRP or other assets, highlighting the need for flexible strategies that account for both rising and falling markets.
He clarified that his views are not a guarantee of future performance and do not constitute investment advice. Hilton concluded that the upcoming month, in his view, offers an opportunity to prepare for what may be a more dynamic fourth quarter led by Bitcoin’s historical cycle and innovations in asset trading.
