Avalanche (AVAX), a leading layer-1 blockchain, is drawing renewed market attention after surpassing a falling wedge pattern on its weekly chart. Crypto analyst Lana Valentis emphasized the significance of this breakout, pointing to historical precedents where similar technical setups led to major price gains for AVAX. Her analysis establishes $10, $16, $31, and $60 as key target levels if current momentum persists.

Weekly breakout and implied targets

The recent breakout above the falling wedge—an indicator often interpreted as bullish—has prompted comparisons to previous periods when AVAX experienced steep upward rallies. According to Valentis, the cryptocurrency’s price structure now mirrors technical patterns that historically preceded two of the most notable surges in AVAX’s chart history.

$AVAX has broken above the falling wedge on the weekly chart, recreating the same price structure behind two of the most explosive rallies in its history. Specific upside targets for AVAX are $10, $16, $31, and $60, if this momentum continues.

A falling wedge, typically considered a reversal signal in technical analysis, may indicate a trend switch from bearish to bullish if confirmed by increased volume and further technical developments.

Mini dictionary: Falling wedge, a chart pattern used in technical analysis that signals a potential shift from a downward trend to an upward trend, often marked by converging trend lines and declining volume ahead of breakouts.

Derivatives market surges with breakout

CoinGlass data shows AVAX derivatives trading recently intensified as prices moved above resistance. Trading volume rose 2.47% to $384.29 million, while open interest grew by 13.54% to $328.78 million. This uptick suggests heightened market activity, with capital flowing into existing futures contracts as AVAX’s technical outlook shifts.

Open interest refers to the total value of outstanding derivative contracts, including both long and short positions. An increase, when combined with growing trading volume, reflects stronger market engagement and the potential for sharper price fluctuations as new and existing traders establish positions near technical breakout or resistance levels.

Aave drives institutional growth with RWA hub

Aave, a decentralized lending platform, has launched a real-world asset (RWA) lending hub on Avalanche to help institutions access credit markets using tokenized traditional financial assets as collateral. This hub enables institutions to borrow stablecoins by backing loans with assets such as real estate or bonds, without the need to liquidate their holdings.

Tether’s USAT stablecoin will be a core liquidity provider within this ecosystem, further reinforcing the project’s stablecoin capabilities.

Aave’s fourth version, known as Aave V4, has attracted over $20 million in deposits on Avalanche within approximately two months since its debut. The introduction of the RWA Hub marks a strategic expansion, allowing a broader range of financial instruments to serve as collateral in Avalanche-based credit markets.

Mini dictionary: Aave, a decentralized protocol that enables users to lend and borrow cryptocurrencies by providing liquidity to various pools, with automated risk management and support for both crypto and tokenized real-world assets.

Institutional narrative strengthens

By supporting tokenized real-world assets as collateral, Avalanche aims to enhance its role as a blockchain serving institutional finance. Eligible institutions can tap into stablecoin liquidity for loans against traditional assets, broadening the platform’s scope beyond cryptocurrencies. This technical infrastructure supports private handling of sensitive data, paired with the ability to securely hold, transfer, and receive supported tokens on Avalanche’s C-Chain.

The interplay between AVAX’s technical breakout and growing ecosystem activity, including the RWA hub, presents momentum for both retail traders and institutions. Continued buying interest and sustained breakout behavior could help AVAX reach the targets outlined by Valentis.

Capital flowing into AVAX futures contracts and major protocol developments, such as Aave’s RWA hub, signal rising interest in Avalanche’s expanding real-world utility and on-chain lending ecosystem.
