Details of Binance’s new transaction restrictions

Binance has specified that starting August 23, it will no longer process transactions directly or indirectly associated with the following entities: HTX, EXMO, Rapira, Aifory Pro, ABCeX, WhiteBird, NoOnecrypto, Tradex, Monease, BitPapa, and Exnode.

The exchange has warned users that any funds sent through these platforms after the restriction date may be held for compliance review and subject to additional verification procedures. Binance also stated that wallets interacted with these entities may be temporarily restricted during ongoing investigations and regulatory checks.

Binance clarified that transactions with these listed platforms could be deemed to violate the exchange’s Terms of Use under certain conditions.

These latest restrictions come after prior actions earlier in August, when Binance imposed similar limits affecting Shelbit and Aban Tether Exchange on August 7 following regulatory developments. Furthermore, A7 Nigeria, A7 Africa, and PilotFinance Ltd were added to the restricted list on August 13.

Binance explained that these steps are part of the company’s broader efforts to meet global compliance requirements and foster a safer trading environment for its users.

Binance emphasized that users should avoid sending funds through any of the listed platforms past the effective date, as such transactions may be placed under strict scrutiny and face delays.

Regulatory spotlight on HTX and other platforms

A number of platforms included in Binance’s latest compliance measures, particularly HTX, have recently faced heightened scrutiny from global regulators. HTX, which operates as a digital asset exchange and was formerly known as Huobi, has appeared in recent sanctions by the European Union, targeting entities linked to Russia-related activities. These sanctions place new limits on transactions for several crypto platforms and financial service providers operating across borders.

Earlier this year, UK authorities included Huobi Global under similar sanctions on grounds of alleged Russian support. British regulators clarified that HTX is subject to these sanctions based on ownership and operational assessments.

Other exchanges targeted by Binance’s restrictions, such as Shelbit and Aban Tether Exchange, were also the focus of recent US regulatory actions. These platforms have been cited in discussions surrounding sanctions and compliance enforcement.

Binance maintained that the new restrictions are driven by evolving compliance obligations rather than any operational or security concerns regarding client assets.

Binance has stated that enhanced regulatory oversight in the cryptocurrency space is prompting more proactive compliance measures from major exchanges.

Overall, the initiative reflects growing regulatory pressure on crypto service providers as governments and supervisory agencies increase their oversight of digital asset transactions and cross-border activities.

Mini dictionary: HTX (previously Huobi) is a cryptocurrency exchange offering trading and financial services to global users. The platform has faced multiple regulatory reviews in various jurisdictions as authorities focus on compliance and anti-money-laundering standards in digital asset markets.
