Spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds in the United States attracted approximately $227 million in net inflows on July 20, marking the fifth consecutive day of positive flows. The trend, according to data from crypto analytics platform SoSoValue, reflects the longest sustained run of inflows since late April for US-based spot bitcoin ETFs.

Sustained demand lifts ETF assets

Over the past five trading sessions, total inflows into spot bitcoin ETFs have reached roughly $727 million, reversing much of the outflows seen in June. This rebound has helped drive total bitcoin ETF assets back up to about $79 billion, compared to a low near $75 billion earlier in July.

During this five-day stretch, investors have renewed their interest in digital asset funds, signaling a turnaround after months marked mostly by redemptions. The recent strength in ETF flows has played a key role in stabilizing market sentiment for major cryptocurrencies.

For the first time since late April, U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs have posted five straight sessions of net inflows, supported by resurgent demand among institutional and retail buyers. The cumulative $727 million added since last week marks the most persistent buying wave since June’s record withdrawal period.

Ether ETFs also see inflows, led by BlackRock

Ether ETFs in the US also registered positive momentum, bringing in around $38 million on July 20. BlackRock’s recently launched ETHA led the pack, accounting for approximately $34 million of that amount.

This inflow pattern highlights renewed investor confidence in ether products as well, though bitcoin ETFs continue to dominate in terms of both volume and overall asset size.

Mini dictionary: BlackRock’s ETHA, an exchange-traded fund that tracks the price of ether (ETH), is managed by BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager and a major player in both traditional and digital asset markets.

Market context: Fed meeting and earnings in focus

Bitcoin’s price has remained largely stable around $63,000 amid a cautious pause following last week’s selloff driven by weakness in the technology sector. The renewed appetite for ETFs arrives at a pivotal moment, as attention turns to upcoming market catalysts.

The Federal Reserve is scheduled to meet on July 28 and 29, and several prominent US technology companies, including Alphabet, Tesla, and Intel, are set to report their latest quarterly earnings this week. Investors are closely watching whether ongoing enthusiasm for artificial intelligence spending—an area closely correlated with bitcoin’s recent performance—remains on an upward trajectory.

Analysts have noted that the combination of ETF inflows and macroeconomic events may play a key role in determining bitcoin’s direction through the remainder of the month.
