Cardano (ADA) saw a modest rebound of about 3% from its recent low, as market participants anticipated the outcome of the Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision scheduled for October 28. Despite moving off its trough, ADA traded near $0.205 on Tuesday, underscoring its inability to break through the key $0.22 resistance needed for a sustained recovery.
Resistance Levels Challenge Cardano’s Recovery
From October 26, ADA rose from around $0.2005 to close at $0.2066 before giving up some gains soon after. Nevertheless, the bounce is set against the backdrop of a broader downtrend, with Cardano slipping sharply since its early October high, when it nearly reached $0.28.
Technical indicators showed immediate resistance for ADA at $0.2085 and then at $0.2127, according to the latest available market data. On a weekly basis, a more prominent barrier sits near $0.223, making it harder for buyers to change the prevailing momentum.
| Price Level | Type |
|---|---|
| $0.2085 | Immediate resistance |
| $0.2127 | Secondary resistance |
| $0.223 | Weekly resistance |
| $0.20 | Short-term support |
| $0.193 | Potential support |
| $0.17 | Bearish target |
Earlier in October, ADA posted an 11% rally toward $0.27, fueled by an increase in futures open interest. However, that upward move was short-lived as bearish momentum returned.
Technical analyst Ali Martinez highlighted that a daily close below $0.21 would increase the risk of a further slide toward $0.17 for ADA, following a bearish SuperTrend reading and diminishing activity from large holders.
Even so, the possibility of ADA reaching $0.17 is viewed as conditional and depends on whether sellers gain further control. Accumulation trends show large investors own more than 25.6 billion ADA, underscoring how long-term holders can remain confident even during short-term price fluctuations.
Federal Reserve Decision and Market Outlook
The Federal Reserve’s two-day policy meeting concludes Wednesday, with the central bank’s latest statement expected at 2 p.m. Eastern Time. Investors are watching for signals about whether the Fed will keep monetary policy restrictive through year’s end.
A hawkish stance could put pressure on speculative assets like cryptocurrencies by pushing up bond yields and the US dollar. Conversely, a dovish policy outlook might restore risk appetite, encouraging renewed interest in digital assets.
Projects and Institutional Activity
Cardano’s community is actively considering a proposal involving the tokenization of physical copper, representing a 22 million ADA treasury initiative. However, the measure is still awaiting governance approval and is not expected to drive sustained trading demand on its own.
Institutional products centered on Cardano have recently encountered challenges. Grayscale, a leading digital asset manager, withdrew its Cardano ETF registration in August, reflecting cautious sentiment on the part of larger market players.
These developments add context to ADA’s price action but are not seen as the primary drivers behind its ongoing weakness.
For bullish momentum to develop, Cardano would need to reclaim the $0.2085 to $0.2127 resistance range and then retarget $0.223 and $0.24. Without sustained buying activity, the broader downtrend may continue and bring lower price targets back into focus.
If ADA loses support at $0.20, further declines toward $0.193 are plausible, and the scenario of a drop to $0.17 becomes more likely if selling intensifies. Cardano’s price has previously rebounded sharply on the back of large investor accumulation, although such turnarounds are never guaranteed.
The market also remembers previous phases of volatility linked to Cardano ecosystem governance issues, demonstrating that ADA’s price can remain unpredictable even as platform development continues.
