More than 700,000 records collected since the 1950s have been secured using Avalanche blockchain technology. This initiative aims to provide citizens and officials with faster and more reliable access to land information.
Establishing a Secure Record System with Blockchain
The digitization process has been carried out in collaboration with the local Land Records Office and the India-based LegitDoc initiative. This system intends to eliminate the access challenges posed by physical records. As records are stored on the blockchain, kiosks placed in each sub-region allow citizens and officials to easily access land information.
Avalanche blockchain technology offers a system that can confirm the accuracy of each record. Authorities can easily review land records in the region and complete downloading procedures. Records can be verified through smart contracts, and transactions can be monitored via Blockchain Explorer, enhancing the system’s reliability.
Providing Benefits for Local Communities
The project holds significant importance, especially for indigenous communities and farmers. Disputes related to land ownership can now be resolved more quickly thanks to the digital system. Local administration can offer a faster and more secure alternative to the manual search methods previously employed.
Mayank Chaturvedi stated that digitization has accelerated access to land records, making verification processes far quicker than what could take weeks. This new system will greatly simplify the workflows for both citizens and officials.
