CoinGecko, the world’s largest independent cryptocurrency data aggregator, has announced its acquisition of Zash, a leading NFT data infrastructure and intelligence company, in a strategic move to expand its cryptocurrency services. This strategic acquisition further strengthens CoinGecko’s commitment to providing reliable, accurate, and comprehensive crypto data, while reinforcing its position as a one-stop data collection and provision platform for coins/tokens and NFTs.
Zash stands out as a company that offers institutional-grade, indexed NFT data in 87 different markets on Ethereum, Polygon, Binance Smart Chain, Solana, and Bitcoin Ordinals. Zash covers NFT metadata, transaction history, lending data, and utilizes proprietary algorithms and advanced data science techniques to detect large-scale washing transactions.
TM Lee, CEO and co-founder of CoinGecko, highlights the unique features of Zash, stating, “Zash has created an exceptional product with the most comprehensive NFT data coverage in the market. This acquisition aligns with our commitment and dedication to providing value to the crypto community with all-in-one market data for coins/tokens and NFTs.”
Zash’s data sets and customizable API enable projects to rapidly build complex blockchain data applications. Prominent Web3 projects such as NFTfi, Metaversal, and Metaquants, which rely on Zash’s data, will be integrated into CoinGecko’s customer base. CoinGecko plans to include Zash’s NFT data in its API offering by the second quarter of 2024, providing users with seamless access to both coin/token and NFT data. The data will also be incorporated into CoinGecko’s existing NFT base price tracker.
While the terms of the acquisition agreement were not disclosed, it was mentioned that Web3 Studios served as the financial advisor in this transaction.
