Crypto Market Starts the Week with a Decline

After weeks of low volatility, the crypto market, which witnessed one of the most striking declines in recent times last Friday, also started the first day of the new week with a decline. The leading cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC), which lost more than 11% in the last week, also dropped by an average of 0.7% in the last 24 hours, reaching $25,900 levels.

Most altcoins in the crypto market recorded double-digit value losses in the last week, due to the decline in BTC. With their recent value losses, Ethereum (ETH) started trading from $1670 levels, BNB from $210 levels, XRP from $0.52 levels, Cardano (ADA) from $0.26 levels, Dogecoin (DOGE) from $0.062 levels, Solana (SOL) from $21.15 levels, and TRON (TRX) from $0.075 levels. Moreover, the total market value of the crypto ecosystem retreated to $1.05 trillion levels after the recent declines since Friday.

The volatility in the crypto market also showed a significant decrease compared to the end of last week. According to Coinglass data, a total of $30 million worth of short and long positions were liquidated in the crypto market in the last 24 hours.

Top Cryptocurrencies of the Day

As the crypto market and the leading cryptocurrency Bitcoin started the new week with a decline, some cryptocurrencies experienced high percentage value losses during the day. THORChain (RUNE) recorded a nearly 10% decline and ranked first among the top 100 cryptocurrencies with the highest market value, as the cryptocurrency with the highest percentage of value loss, according to CMC data. Synthetix (SNX), Sui (SUI), ApeCoin (APE), and Stellar (XLM) were also among the cryptocurrencies that experienced high percentage value losses during the day.

On the other hand, despite the selling pressure in the crypto market since Friday, there were also cryptocurrencies that continued to rise during this period. Ethereum Classic (ETC), Optimism (OP), and Hedera (HBAR) were among the cryptocurrencies that experienced the highest percentage increase in the last 24 hours, according to CMC data.
