Cryptocurrency markets witnessed volatile movements as the price of Bitcoin (BTC) surged above the $67,000 level. Ethereum (ETH) price also approached $3,300. Meanwhile, other top-tier altcoins like XRP and Cardano (ADA) were recovering, while Solana (SOL) experienced a significant decline.
Current Status of BTC and ETH
Bitcoin‘s price reached $67,663.81, marking a 3.28% increase, as of the writing on Friday, April 5. On the other hand, its trading volume saw an 11.53% increase over the last 24 hours, reaching $35.12 billion. The cryptocurrency’s market value is now at $1.33 trillion. When considering altcoins, Ethereum’s price rose by 0.40% to $3,295.34, with a market valuation of $394.90 billion.
ETH’s trading volume decreased by 1.85% to $14.62 billion. Meanwhile, Binance Coin (BNB)‘s price fell by 0.99% to $573.70. Its 24-hour trading volume also dropped by 5.63% to $2.13 billion. Solana’s price fell below $180 today. Solana‘s price settled at $176.84 after a 2.99% decrease. However, SOL’s trading volume over the last 24 hours increased by 8.58%, reaching $4.17 billion. XRP’s price also recovered, nearing the $0.59 level.
Altcoin and Meme Token Market
XRP’s price recorded a 2.41% increase, reaching $0.5833. On the other hand, XRP’s trading volume soared by 40.82% to $2.15 billion. Additionally, Cardano’s price rose by 1.36% today to $0.5835. ADA‘s 24-hour trading volume increased by 1.42%, settling at $468.73 million. While the highest-valued cryptocurrencies experienced volatility today, the meme token ecosystem saw similar movements.
Dogecoin fell by 0.47% to $0.1743, while its rival Shiba Inu saw a 1.65% increase, trading at $0.00002673. The Solana-based meme token Pepe Coin (PEPE) did not see much change in price today. Pepe Coin’s price dropped by 0.26% to $0.000006737, with a market value of $2.83 billion. Furthermore, PEPE’s 24-hour trading volume fell by 16.19% to $510.13 million.
