Dogecoin faced renewed selling pressure this week, with its price declining to $0.068 as technical signals pointed to ongoing weakness. The popular meme coin experienced a notable death cross on its hourly chart in early August, when the 50-period moving average slipped below the 200-period moving average. This formation often signals a bearish outlook for an asset in the short term.

Technical pressure and price levels

The most recent decline in Dogecoin’s price began after August 3, marking the coin’s fourth consecutive day of losses since that date. Dogecoin has recorded only one positive trading session in August so far. At present, Dogecoin is trading down 1.78% in the past 24 hours and 2.03% over the week, continuing a pattern of weakening momentum first seen in late July.

Traders are closely observing the $0.068 support level as the next key zone. Should Dogecoin manage a rebound, resistance is expected between $0.073 and $0.08. According to technical analysts, price movement around these areas will likely shape Dogecoin’s short-term outlook.

Wider market sentiment and key events

Broader cryptocurrency markets showed uneven performance on Thursday, as investors prepared for the release of US nonfarm payrolls and July unemployment data. Market watchers estimate an addition of 83,000 jobs, with the unemployment rate forecast to remain steady. These macroeconomic signals are being monitored for potential impact on crypto sentiment and volatility.

Efficient market monitoring tools can provide traders with real-time insights during volatile periods. Platforms like CryptoAppsy, which requires no account setup, allow users to track crypto investments with live prices, detailed charts, and manage multi-currency portfolios. Traders can set smart price alerts, receive coin-specific news, discover new altcoins, and access timely macroeconomic data such as Federal Reserve interest rates to stay ahead of market trends.

Dogecoin ETF flows and on-chain activity

Despite recent price setbacks, on-chain metrics for Dogecoin have shown signs of activity growth. Ali, a leading crypto analyst, indicated that weekly active DOGE addresses increased from 38,000 to 44,000, reflecting a 16% uptick. This rise signals greater participation and transaction volume on the Dogecoin blockchain.

Ali highlighted a notable 16% growth in weekly active DOGE addresses, with the metric jumping from 38,000 to 44,000, demonstrating increased on-chain engagement.

Meanwhile, investor appetite for Dogecoin-related exchange-traded funds (ETFs) appears to be recovering. Data from SoSoValue indicated that spot DOGE ETFs recorded $82,640 in net inflows on August 4, marking the first day of positive flows since July 21. This is a notable reversal after a period of subdued ETF activity.

Throughout 2026, Dogecoin spot ETFs have logged just nine days of net inflows and only two days of net outflows. These products now hold a combined $10.11 million in total net assets and have accumulated $12.20 million in cumulative net inflows.

SoSoValue reported that Dogecoin spot ETFs registered $82,640 in net inflows on August 4, the first positive ETF flows in over two weeks, bringing total net assets to $10.11 million.
