The newly launched tap-to-earn (T2E) game DOGS on Telegram has reached 53 million users. Quickly becoming popular among Telegram users, the game distributed tokens in August, leading to 4.5 million wallet addresses. This made DOGS one of the most held tokens on the blockchain.
40 Billion DOGS Tokens Airdropped
On September 4th, the DOGS project airdropped approximately 40 billion DOGS tokens to users within two days. A total of 17 million users claimed their tokens. Inspired by Pavel Durov’s iconic dog drawing, the project hosted the largest meme token creation event in crypto history. DOGS stands out with 1.1 million daily active addresses and 14.4 million transactions in a single day.
A statement from the project said, “The rapid growth and broad user base of DOGS have enabled the token to outperform other tokens in the T2E gaming sector.”
Last week, the market value of DOGS reached $700 million, and the digital asset started trading on major crypto exchanges like Binance and Bybit. These significant achievements demonstrate that DOGS holds an important position in the T2E gaming sector.
GhostDrive Platform Introduced
To celebrate these major milestones, DOGS introduced a new Web3 storage platform called GhostDrive. GhostDrive allows users to securely store their data and monetize it. The platform boasts over 740,000 monthly users.
A statement from the project team said, “GhostDrive offers a decentralized and censorship-resistant solution where users can have full control over their data.”
Built on the TON blockchain as a Telegram Mini App, GhostDrive operates integrated with LEO satellite nodes. This integration offers users more secure, private, and innovative data management features.
Telegram-Based Games on the Rise
Meanwhile, DOGS is not the only game gaining popularity among Telegram-based games. This week, another game named Catizen (CATI) celebrated its six-month anniversary. Catizen draws attention with 34 million players.
Catizen has 800,000 paying users and an average revenue of $33 per user. Additionally, Catizen players make up 22.4% of Telegram Premium subscribers. This indicates that approximately 2.24 million Telegram paid users are Catizen players.
Catizen’s token has not yet been fully launched but is already trading in pre-markets on exchanges like Bybit, OKX, and Bitget. When it fully launches on September 20th, users will be able to trade these virtual assets along with major cryptocurrencies in spot markets.
The DOGS game quickly reached a large user base, making it one of the most held tokens on the blockchain. With the GhostDrive platform, it aims to offer users secure and innovative data management solutions. These successes show that DOGS and other Telegram-based games have gained a significant place in the crypto market.
