While frontend hack incidents do not directly imply a breach of the protocol, they do trap users in a web of deceit on the website. Attackers typically seize the domain of the website linked to the protocol and force users attempting to connect their wallets to interact with a fraudulent protocol.
Understanding the Risks
A significant portion of users considers the website secure, leading them to overlook suspicious wallet connection permissions. However, it is known that the permissions granted for malicious protocols can lead to viruses that automatically drain balances whenever funds are deposited.
