ETF outflows hit record levels

US spot Ether exchange-traded funds (ETFs) registered substantial net outflows in October 2026. According to Farside, $110.6 million in net outflows occurred on October 22 alone. BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) led the losses with $75.5 million withdrawn that day, while Fidelity’s FETH saw a modest inflow of $2.4 million.

BlackRock’s ETHB product reported $17.2 million in outflows, Grayscale’s ETHE lost $9.6 million, and Grayscale’s Ethereum Staking Mini ETF recorded a $10.7 million exit on the same day. These outflows came after $14.9 million in inflows on October 21, during which Grayscale’s staking fund gained $28.1 million and FETH attracted $13 million, even though ETHA saw an outflow of $29.3 million.

In the week ending October 22, aggregated outflows from ether ETFs reached $484.6 million across seven sessions, with $388.9 million drained between October 14 and October 20. October 14 saw the largest single-day outflow in the period, with $129.5 million exiting the funds. On October 19, an additional $103.3 million left the sector.

October 23 brought a modest reversal with $4.4 million in net ETF inflows, though complete figures for all products were not yet available.

Exchange-traded fund data shows spot Ether ETFs in the US lost $1.08 billion in October through October 21, the sharpest monthly outflow in 2026. September’s $832 million in inflows were completely erased, leaving net inflows for the year at roughly $485 million.

October became the worst month for ether ETF performance since November 2025. By October 20, total net assets of US spot ETH ETFs stood at $14.98 billion, representing 5.01% of ether’s total market value.

For comparison, US spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced approximately $67 million in outflows over the same month, yet still maintained year-to-date net inflows of about $809 million. Over six sessions starting September 29, ether ETF net outflows reached roughly $408 million. BlackRock’s ETHA alone registered a $201.89 million outflow on October 6.
