Supporters of Ethereum $2,740, the leading altcoin, have shown overwhelming backing for former researcher Danny Ryan to become the next leader of the Ethereum Foundation (EF) through an unofficial poll. The survey conducted at votedannyryan.com revealed that 99% of 296 wallets cast their votes in favor of Ryan, reflecting a community desire for technical leadership, represented by a total of 50,000 ETH, equivalent to around 160 million dollars.
Community Calls for Leadership Change
The Ethereum community has expressed concerns regarding the current management’s efficiency and vision. Fabrice Cheng, who initiated the votedannyryan campaign, stated that this initiative aims to amplify the community’s voice. He emphasized, “The greatest strength of Ethereum lies in its social layer. It is critical for the community to have a say in decision-making processes.”

In a voting process that allowed participation without gas fees, ETH holders were engaged by stakers and DeFi users. The majority of participants believe that Ryan’s technical expertise aligns with Ethereum’s long-term objectives. He holds a respected position in the community owing to his role during the transition from Proof of Work (PoW) to Proof of Stake (PoS) known as “The Merge.”
Ryan Stands Out with Skills and Future Vision
Ryan is known for his research in sharding and PoS during his tenure at EF. Despite leaving the foundation in 2023, the community is advocating for his return to leadership. Ryan announced on his X account that he continues to engage with Buterin and EF officials.
Lubin suggested a co-leadership model involving Ryan and Jerome de Tychey, president of ETH France. Lubin remarked, “Danny would be an excellent leader who can energize the technical team.” Buterin indicated his involvement in the leadership decision-making until structural reforms are complete.
