Today marks an intriguing day for cryptocurrency enthusiasts as applications for several altcoin ETFs have commenced. The SEC leadership is currently under the temporary guidance of Mark Uyeda, who has resumed duties since Gary Gensler’s resignation. With Donald Trump back in the presidency, the probability of ETF approvals appears to be increasing.
Seven Crypto ETF Applications Submitted
REX Shares and Osprey have jointly submitted applications for seven distinct crypto ETFs. This move could significantly boost excitement surrounding altcoins. Mark Uyeda, the current SEC Chairman, was one of three pivotal members who voted in favor of approving the BTC ETF, highlighting a potentially favorable stance toward cryptocurrency.
According to the official application, the ETF processes have been initiated for TRUMP, ETH, BTC, SOL, XRP, BONK, and DOGE. This timeline could extend up to a year, although Trump might streamline the approval process through supportive measures for the SEC.
Given that BTC and ETH ETF approvals have been granted in the Biden administration, Trump’s presidency could pave the way for unexpected approvals, such as for BONK Coin.
