Every year, billions of dollars in cryptocurrency fall into the hands of attackers through various methods. And this will not end. Ransomware used to be very popular, and attackers involved in this have now turned to cryptocurrencies. They hack crypto protocols and target investors to empty their wallets. Thus, their loot becomes much larger.
UwU Lend Hacked
Arkham announced a few minutes ago that the UwU Lend protocol was recently hacked. Attackers seized approximately 20 million dollars in cryptocurrency and continue to make transfers. Simultaneously with Arkham, on-chain security company Cyvers also reported the incident.
“Hey @UwU_Lend, you are under attack! So far, approximately 14 million dollars have been seized…”
The DeFi protocol UwU Lends offered liquidity services such as borrowing/lending. According to Cyvers’ CTO and co-founder Meir Dolev, the attack is still ongoing.
“The attack is still ongoing, but we can already see that we are talking about a major incident exceeding the 20 million dollar threshold. We are talking about different assets drained from pools and converted to ETH (such as WBTC and DAI).”
