New Kind of Network (NKN), is an open-source, peer-to-peer communication-focused blockchain network and project. This cryptocurrency and blockchain project, which focuses directly on internet connectivity, aims to enable people to share their network bandwidth and rights with others on a peer-to-peer basis. It can be said that this project has a large target audience, especially in countries and regions where internet connectivity is not widespread and still hard to access.
Launched in January 2018, the blockchain project was initiated by Stephen Wolfram and Whitfield Diffie, founders of Mathematica and Wolfram Alpha. Diffie is also one of the first inventors of public-key cryptography.

With its 25,000 nodes, it could be said that NKN’s mainnet is even more complex and extensive than Ethereum’s network.
