The institutional crypto sector marked a major development as Hyperliquid (HYPE) was officially added to the Nasdaq CME Crypto Index, positioning the token alongside prominent digital assets such as Bitcoin, XRP, and Ethereum.
Quarterly index rebalancing brings new composition
This update followed the Nasdaq CME Crypto Index’s scheduled quarterly rebalancing, which went into effect today. An official prospectus supplement for the Hashdex Nasdaq CME Crypto Index ETF (NCIQ), filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, confirmed these changes.
The latest documentation disclosed the asset allocation for the index. Bitcoin commands the largest weight at 74.36%, followed by Ethereum with 11.88%. Hyperliquid entered the index with a 3.36% weighting, outpacing multiple established tokens and nearly matching Solana, which holds a 3.79% share.
XRP remains the third-largest token in the index, holding a 5.21% share. This figure represents a minor drop attributed to common market fluctuations, but still highlights XRP’s continued importance in a shifting competitive field.
Less than 1.5% of the remaining index weight is divided among Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, and Bitcoin Cash.
| Asset | Index Weight |
|---|---|
| Bitcoin | 74.36% |
| Ethereum | 11.88% |
| XRP | 5.21% |
| Solana | 3.79% |
| Hyperliquid (HYPE) | 3.36% |
| Others (ADA, LINK, XLM, BCH) | <1.5% combined |
The prospectus supplement confirms that Hyperliquid has joined the ranks of Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Solana in the Nasdaq CME Crypto Index, debuting with a notable 3.36% weighting and surpassing several established assets.
