Studio 369 has announced that its popular third-person shooter game MetalCore will transition to the Solana $197 blockchain for its upcoming season. The switch to Solana is expected to take place in November. The primary reasons behind this decision include Solana’s high scalability and low transaction fees.
Advantages of Solana in the Transition
Having initially launched its first season on Ethereum $2,910‘s Immutable zkEVM platform, MetalCore faced performance issues primarily due to network delays and transaction speeds. These challenges prompted Studio 369 to seek a faster and more efficient blockchain solution. Consequently, Solana’s robust infrastructure was deemed a suitable option for achieving the desired performance levels in the game.
Matt Candler, CEO of Studio 369, noted that Solana offers a conducive environment for MetalCore due to its growth rate, transaction volume, and stability. He emphasized that Solana has achieved billions of dollars in transaction volume and maintained a 99.95% uptime, highlighting the significant role this infrastructure will play in the game’s development.
A New Process Begins for Players
Players of MetalCore will be able to initiate the process of transferring their existing tokens (MCG) and NFTs to the Solana network in the coming months. Studio 369 assures that it will take the necessary measures to ensure this transition occurs smoothly and without interruptions.
The shift of MetalCore to the Solana blockchain underscores the importance of this platform among blockchain-based games. This move is expected to serve as an example for other game developers as well.
By transitioning to Solana, known for its low transaction fees and high scalability, MetalCore is contributing to the growing influence of this blockchain in the gaming sector. It is likely that this move will also inspire other GameFi projects.
