Michael Saylor has outlined a vision in which multiple issuers such as Strategy and Strive can help accelerate growth and diversification in the Bitcoin credit market. He contends that credible competition among issuers may attract a wider pool of investors, deepen market liquidity, and stimulate more extensive research on securities linked to Bitcoin.

Saylor’s Framework: Digital Capital, Credit, and Equity

Saylor positions Bitcoin itself as “Digital Capital,” placing preferred securities like Strategy’s STRC and Strive’s SATA in the category of “Digital Credit.” Meanwhile, equity in companies such as MSTR and ASST falls under his “Digital Equity” definition. This framework seeks to clarify the roles and risks associated with each type of financial instrument tied to the Bitcoin ecosystem.

Referencing SIFMA data, Saylor notes that global equity market capitalization stood at $157.8 trillion at the end of 2025, compared to $160.7 trillion for global fixed-income securities. Even a movement of just 0.1% of assets from these mature markets into Bitcoin-tied preferred securities could represent $160 billion in new capital, significantly expanding the market beyond that of current Bitcoin treasury holders.

He maintains that competition between issuers does not need to diminish overall market growth. Investors familiar with one issuer’s preferred securities may gain confidence in analyzing others, and increased participation is widely expected to improve liquidity and coverage.

Recent Activity from Strategy and Strive

Recent filings indicate active participation from both issuers. Strive’s September 28 SEC filing disclosed holding 505,000 STRC with a fair value of $49.76 million on September 25. Additionally, Strive added 1,107 BTC to its reserves between September 21 and September 25, bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to 27,462 BTC, with an average purchase price of $85,396 per coin for the recent acquisition.

Strive’s issuance of SATA alongside holdings of STRC strengthens direct links between leading players in the Bitcoin credit market. While both issuers compete for investor capital, their products remain distinct. STRC follows a variable rate structure, while SATA is based on its own rate and unique dividend schedule.

Alongside these developments, Strategy increased its Bitcoin reserves between September 21 and September 27 by acquiring 1,665 BTC valued at approximately $142.7 million. The company also repurchased roughly $151.7 million in STRC units, elevating its Bitcoin holdings to 847,666 BTC at a reported cost basis of $63.95 billion.

Market Risks, Liquidity, and Investor Dynamics

Despite growth, risks remain. Fluctuations in Bitcoin’s price, changes to dividend structures, market liquidity, and the underlying financial health of issuers all influence yields. The significant drops observed in STRC and SATA trading during June serve as reminders of the sector’s vulnerability to volatility and liquidity pressures.

Saylor suggests that by attracting reputable issuers, the Bitcoin credit market can reach higher liquidity and benefit from lower financing costs. However, the performance and reliability of each instrument still depend on the issuer’s business practices and ability to manage risk.

Highlighting the importance of timing and monitoring in asset activity, the meme token market often demonstrates sudden, large-scale interest. In recent days, a trade in the token “Niu Lai” reportedly turned a $99 investment into about $370,000, according to Fomo App. In such rapidly shifting environments, it is essential not only to track price movements but also to monitor major investor actions and choice of tokens. Fomo App integrates token discovery, trading, investor rankings, and trade notifications into a single platform, allowing users to follow the pulse of meme tokens and participant activity.

Strategy Shareholder Vote and Dividend Changes

Strategy has organized a special shareholder meeting for October 28, where common shareholders will be asked to approve a change in the dividend schedule for STRC, STRF, STRK, and STRD. If the proposal moves forward, the record date for dividends will be set on a daily basis for these preferred shares.

If approved, the first daily scheduled dividend payment will occur on November 2 for those holding shares as of November 1. Strategy states this adjustment aims to reduce reinvestment delays. Overall, the impact of these changes on the wider Bitcoin credit market will depend on investor response and adoption.

Saylor emphasizes that while competitive issuers such as Strategy and Strive attract more investor capital, liquidity, and research to Bitcoin-linked preferred securities, the sustainability of market growth and lower financing costs will always depend on each issuer’s ability to manage risks and uphold investor trust.
