The platform, reaching over 200 million monthly users, has globally popularized artificial intelligence. In November 2022, ChatGPT was launched, making AI tangible and visible. It quickly spread and became the fastest platform to reach 100 million users. Fees have remained reasonable so far, but this may change.
OpenAI Subscription Fees
According to a report published by The Information a few minutes ago, the OpenAI team may increase subscription fees for large language models up to $2,000. The Information mentions four-figure amounts but does not provide details on which subscriptions this will cover or how much basic memberships will increase.
Currently, you can use ChatGPT’s GPT-4o version for free with limited access. By subscribing to the Plus plan for $20 per month, you can access GPT-4, GPT-4o, GPT-4o mini, and features like DALL-E video calls. The most expensive subscription option is the Team plan, costing $30 per team member.
For enterprise subscriptions, OpenAI offers more options and personalized support but does not provide a fixed price. Companies can detail their needs and scope to get a quote from OpenAI representatives.
If $2,000 figures are being discussed, it is likely not related to enterprise subscriptions. This amount might be proposed to customers based on a specific number of team subscriptions. Although OpenAI has not commented on this yet, it is known that revenues are not at the expected level. Such revenue-focused discussions will benefit the company amid its ongoing investment round targeting a $100 billion valuation.
