Opera, the world’s fifth most-used web browser as per 2022 data, is integrating Layer 1 Blockchain, MultiversX, into its web browser. With this integration, users will be able to transact with the tokens on the MultiversX network and access the network’s NFTs and decentralized applications (dApps).
Integration of MultiversX Network into Opera
The blockchain network MultiversX, formerly known as Elrond and focused on the metaverse, has collaborated with Opera to contribute significantly to its growing ecosystem.
Opera users will be able to explore the decentralized internet through the MultiversX network integrated into the browser’s interface. Additionally, they can transact with the network’s own altcoins, EGLD or ESDT, and access NFTs based on MultiversX and decentralized applications built on the network.
In a statement to CoinDesk about the collaboration with Opera, MultiversX CEO Beniamin Mincu stated that the network’s integration into Opera provides users with a more accessible route to the Web3 ecosystem. “MultiversX, integrated into the Opera browser package, utilizes the potential of Web3 in an accessible and familiar way for users. This represents a significant step in creating a simplified, low-barrier entry point to the world of Web3 and blockchain assets, allowing users to easily access the new digital economy without having to understand confusing complexities,” said Mincu.
Alongside Opera’s desktop browser, the MultiversX network will also be integrated into its Android version.
MultiversX Lastly Launched xPortal
Recently, MultiversX launched xPortal, a Web3 “super application” intended to make Web3 interoperable and easily accessible for new users. This all-in-one platform enables users to access decentralized applications and the metaverse. Furthermore, they recently joined forces with Chinese tech company Tencent, the entity behind the popular messaging application WeChat, to help formulate the company’s Web3 strategy.
