PlanB, the creator of the Stock-2-Flow (S2F) model, has reaffirmed his Bitcoin $98,557 price target of $500,000. He initially set this target when Bitcoin was trading at around $20,000 three years ago. This prediction stands out as one of the most ambitious forecasts for 2025.
Halving and Institutional Adoption Will Drive Price Increases
PlanB referenced his previous statements regarding Bitcoin’s future. In an October 2022 post, he suggested that the upcoming halving event in 2024 could significantly boost BTC prices. He remains confident that this prediction is still valid. The expectation for Bitcoin to reach $500,000 by 2025 is bolstered by the anticipated halving this year and the growing interest from institutional investors.
Currently, Bitcoin trades at approximately $94,591.42. However, according to PlanB’s forecast, Bitcoin could reach $100,000 in the short term. Experts speculate that Bitcoin could achieve values between $250,000 and $1 million.
New 2025 Target for Bitcoin Price: $500,000
General forecasts for Bitcoin suggest it could be valued between $150,000 and $300,000 in 2025. Nonetheless, the establishment of a strategic Bitcoin reserve by the U.S. and increased participation from institutional investors may elevate Bitcoin’s worth to new heights. MicroStrategy stands out as a leading firm in this trend, having recently purchased 2,138 BTC for $209 million, increasing its total BTC holdings to 446,400.
Bitcoin’s price may fluctuate according to market dynamics. Yet, the impact of halving and institutional investors could significantly influence its value. Given these factors, PlanB’s $500,000 target evolves into a more plausible goal.
