Polkadot‘s ecosystem continues to grow thanks to frequent improvements and vital partnerships. Recently, the blockchain protocol partnered with the Founder Institute. The team described the second collaboration as groundbreaking and added that it marks the beginning of an exciting chapter with the launch of the first Web3 group in the Core Program.
What’s Happening on the Polkadot Front?
Founder Institute announced that the program launch would take place on May 28 and that it would be led by top experts from the Polkadot community. Earlier this month, the blockchain protocol activated the Asynchronous Backing process on the network, a mechanism designed to increase the scalability and efficiency of the entire ecosystem.
The Polkadot team revealed that blocks are being produced twice as fast, and the current block space has increased 6-10 times following this upgrade. The team shared the following statements on the matter:
“Async Backing increases throughput by 8 times without compromising security, paving the way for Web3 applications in sectors like gaming and DeFi. It brings Web2 scale to Web3, which is crucial for large-scale platforms like Mythical Games.”
The blockchain protocol is also seeking external partnerships, such as a potential agreement with the American football club Inter Miami. Last month, the team’s commercial director and TV rights manager Nico Zini announced that both parties could join forces for an $8.8 million sponsorship partnership. Inter Miami’s co-founder David Beckham and its biggest stars on the field include Argentine legend Lionel Messi and Uruguayan Luis Suarez.
Nico Zini previously served as the Business Development Manager for FC Barcelona in North America. The Catalan club considered a deal with Polkadot in 2022 but ultimately chose Spotify.
Notable Developments in the Ecosystem
Polkadot’s some parachain networks have also made progress recently. One of the most popular, the Acala Network, completed the Sina Upgrade at the beginning of May. It aims to strengthen security measures, ensure community participation in governance decisions, enhance Acala’s ability to interact seamlessly with different blockchain networks, and simplify the user experience.
The Moonbeam Network launched the Moonbeam Odyssey Program Trials, emphasizing community engagement through various events and educational initiatives. The team shared the following statements on the matter:
“Everyone can participate! Test your skills, strengths, and abilities to emerge victorious from the trials and become an Odyssey Pioneer.”
