Across three days, the event has featured prominent sessions and panels discussing advances in blockchain technology, adoption, and the future of digital assets.
Ripple leadership details XRPL’s future
During one high-profile session, Ripple President Monica Long joined Caroline D. Pham, Acting Chair of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), for a discussion on the evolving landscape of tokenization. When asked whether most tokenized volume would migrate to private or public blockchains in the coming years, Long identified public blockchains as the more likely path forward.
Long also pointed to upcoming features that aim to bring private blockchain benefits to the XRP Ledger, mentioning confidential transfer (XLS-96) and permission delegation (XLS-75) as major steps supporting this evolution.
During the session, Monica Long pointed to public blockchains as the expected main venue for tokenized volume but highlighted features like confidential transfer and permission delegation, which are designed to introduce private blockchain benefits to the XRP Ledger ecosystem.
Ripple executives plan a follow-up at XRP Seoul on October 3 at the Grand Hyatt Seoul, headlined by Monica Long. Other key company figures—including SVP Markus Infanger; RippleX Head of Engineering J.A. Akinyele; Christina Chan, Senior Director of Ecosystem Growth; and Tatsuya Kohrogi, Senior Ecosystem Growth Manager—are also scheduled to participate. The agenda centers around the latest technical upgrades and institutional adoption strategies for XRP and the XRPL platform.
XRPL upgrades and mainnet rollout
Several major improvements are set to roll out on the XRP Ledger in early October. Permission Delegation and Batch are expected to introduce institutional-grade account controls and automated, trustless transaction bundling. These upgrades target enhanced network reliability and security for enterprise users.
Permission Delegation is slated for an October 8, 2026 launch, with Batch and its associated fix planned to go live on October 9, pending sustained support above the 80% approval threshold during the required two-week activation period.
Technical innovation remains a focus for blockchain developers and investors, who closely track milestone events and new releases for leading protocols. This strategic collaboration aims to innovate asset tokenization across Brazil, enhancing the country’s emerging digital asset ecosystem and driving forward the use case for blockchain technology in traditional finance.
Ripple Global Partner Success Lead Luke Judges described the new partnership as a major step for the XRP Ledger, adding that the first issuance in this initiative is set to bring approximately $15 billion in represented market capitalization to XRPL.
With these developments, Ripple expects to strengthen the institutional use of the XRP Ledger both in Asia and Latin America, as upcoming technical features and regional partnerships drive adoption and expand real-world asset integration on blockchain platforms.
