Ripple has officially launched its dollar-backed stablecoin, RLUSD, on the XRPL EVM Sidechain. With this key step, the company aims to expand RLUSD across more blockchain networks, while also establishing a direct connection between the XRP Ledger and EVM-compatible tools.
RLUSD goes live on the new sidechain
The XRPL EVM Sidechain now supports RLUSD, allowing Ripple’s stablecoin to be used on a network that is integrated with the XRP Ledger and compatible with Ethereum-based applications. Ripple described this rollout as part of RLUSD’s broader multi-chain expansion strategy, aimed at reaching more users and developers.
RippleX emphasized in a statement that the XRPL EVM Sidechain is now live with RLUSD, highlighting that the new structure preserves compatibility with current EVM developer tools and maintains a close link to the XRP Ledger.
This setup offers developers the flexibility to use familiar Ethereum tooling while remaining connected to the XRPL ecosystem. RLUSD is expected to be used within smart contract networks for transactions, lending, payments, and settlements.
