Shiba Inu (SHIB) is experiencing a notable shift in exchange activity while attempting a strong price recovery. The token’s exchange netflow has dropped by approximately 811 billion SHIB, marking a significant decline from previous levels and triggering renewed attention among traders.
SHIB exchange flows see rapid changes
Recent data shows that SHIB’s exchange netflow currently stands at about 212.3 billion SHIB, down from over one trillion SHIB in prior readings. Netflow reflects the difference between tokens sent to and withdrawn from exchanges. This substantial drop suggests a reduction in SHIB moving onto trading platforms, which contrasts with a simplistic view that investors are primarily taking profits.
While this netflow contraction points to aggressive repositioning, SHIB has posted a 5.5% gain on the latest daily candle and currently trades near $0.00000521. The price has also moved above its orange moving average at approximately $0.00000489, reaching key levels not consistently held since June.
Instead of a mere profit-taking move, the sharp reduction in exchange netflow reflects complex investor behavior responding to the latest SHIB price surge.
Other exchange metrics display a mixed landscape. Total inflows of SHIB to exchanges rose by 1.85% to roughly 1.007 trillion SHIB, and the seven-day moving average of mean inflows increased sharply by 26.36% to 1.286 billion SHIB. Additionally, overall SHIB exchange reserves climbed slightly, reaching 87.39 trillion SHIB, up 0.24%.
These numbers indicate that, alongside substantial withdrawals, certain holders continue to deposit tokens on trading platforms.
Active addresses and technical indicators
On-chain activity remains robust, with active addresses rising by 1.15% and receiving addresses up by 1.12%. Meanwhile, outflows from exchanges persist at a high level, now near 748 billion SHIB. This pattern suggests a broad uptick in overall trading activity, rather than a one-sided exodus of tokens from exchanges.
Technically, Shiba Inu buyers currently have the upper hand. With the price breaking above $0.000005, analysts see potential for SHIB to advance toward $0.0000055 up to $0.0000057. At the same time, the token’s relative strength index (RSI) has climbed to about 67.4, putting SHIB close to overbought territory. This increases the likelihood of profit-taking among short-term holders.
| Metric | Current Value | Change |
|---|---|---|
| Netflow | 212.3 billion SHIB | -811 billion SHIB |
| Total inflows | 1.007 trillion SHIB | +1.85% |
| Exchange reserves | 87.39 trillion SHIB | +0.24% |
| Active addresses | – | +1.15% |
| Outflows | 748 billion SHIB | – |
Despite these developments, analysts do not interpret the dramatic drop in exchange netflow as a sign that investors are abandoning the current rally. The ongoing withdrawals from exchanges appear to be balancing the increase in supply arriving at trading venues, occurring just as SHIB pursues its strongest price rebound in recent weeks.
