Cryptocurrency world’s so-called “Dogecoin Killer,” Shiba Inu (SHIB), has once again captured the agenda by experiencing an increase in both search interest and token price. Google Trends data reveals a global increase in searches for “Shiba Inu” and related queries. This also indicates renewed investor enthusiasm for the meme coin.
Searches for Shiba Inu on the Rise
This surge follows a relatively quiet period for the meme coin. The developments of the past month are particularly noteworthy. Search popularity reached 100 on March 16th and then showed a significant increase to 48 compared to levels in January. Phrases like “Why is Shiba Inu rising?” and “Shiba Inu All-Time High” also saw a notable increase, reflecting investor curiosity and potential buying interest.
While interest has spread worldwide, some regions stand out. Pakistan, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Canada, and Nigeria emerged as the countries with the highest searches for SHIB last week, displaying a geographically diverse appeal for the meme coin.
Interest Peaks Amidst Price Rally
The value of SHIB saw an increase of over 180% last month, reaching its two-year high of $0.000045, coinciding with this revival of interest.
While initial speculations implied a retest of the all-time high of $0.000088, a market correction occurred, causing a slight drop in SHIB’s price.
Despite the correction, enthusiasm within the Shiba Inu community remains high. While the long-term goal of SHIB reaching $0.01 continues to be a hot topic, analysts warn that achieving this target could take a long time.
Focus on Shibarium for Long-Term Goal
To achieve this ambitious target, developers are prioritizing Shibarium, the project’s Layer-2 scaling solution. Shibarium aims to establish itself as a growing smart contract hub, potentially attracting more users and increasing demand for SHIB.
Experts attribute the current Shiba Inu craze to various factors. The broader cryptocurrency market’s recent recovery after a downturn could be boosting investor confidence in meme coins like SHIB. Additionally, ongoing developments in the Shiba Inu ecosystem, including Shibarium and initiatives to reduce token supply through burning, could be fueling investor optimism.
