Shiba Inu community member and Shiba Eternity advisor Mazrael revealed an unannounced infrastructure transition behind the Shibarium explorer, ShibariumScan, following a recent service outage. The change surfaced after users noticed that the explorer lost its distinctive branding and Shibnames functionality, sparking community questions regarding the cause of these missing features.
Infrastructure migration and branding loss
On August 12, Mazrael posted on X that ShibariumScan was once again operational and successfully indexing data. Despite the explorer’s return, both branding and Shibnames support had not been restored, prompting concerns among Shiba Inu supporters about the underlying technical issues.
Further clarifying the situation, Mazrael provided specifics behind the outage. He stated that, as of August 11, ShibariumScan’s infrastructure shifted behind Cloudflare, with a change in Domain Name System (DNS) settings being a central factor. While Cloudflare previously managed DNS for Shibarium, the settings had pointed directly at the underlying server. This configuration was switched to proxied on August 11, marking the explorer’s migration to a different network route.
Mazrael described this as an infrastructure migration and linked the change to the explorer reappearing as a standard, unmodified deployment. As a result, both the custom branding and the .shib configuration were not restored, and the system’s backfill functionality has been halted since this transition.
Domain and operational updates
Following the DNS and proxy change, Mazrael also observed registrar activity on August 11 at 19:15, tying it directly to the ongoing migration. He stated that the Shibarium domain remains healthy, with an expiration date set for August 1, 2027. All four domain transfer locks are currently active, providing an additional layer of security.
Mazrael noted, “V3 Factory nonce 441 to 483, 42 more pools, 69 created in the last 24 hours. I sampled 25 of them: none with any real trading, and 0.0000 WBONE liquidity across all 25.”
The launchpad continues to see a flood of new pools, but Mazrael reported that these pools have seen no substantial trading activity or added liquidity. The updates suggest that, while the technical infrastructure is stable, ecosystem participation has yet to rebound in tandem with the explorer’s return.
Domain divestment and ecosystem transition
In a broader context, Mazrael explained that the recent domain and infrastructure changes also signal a divestment in legacy Shiba Inu web properties. He stated that several original Shiba Inu websites have been retired and that the Shib Metaverse project is now under new ownership, no longer connected to the primary ecosystem.
This marks the definitive separation of the Shibthemetaverse domain from its previous ties to the Shiba Inu community.
Amid these ongoing technical shifts and rising awareness within the community, many traders are seeking more reliable ways to monitor ecosystem updates and market activity. In a market where a single Fed decision or a sudden altcoin listing can change everything in seconds, jumping between different apps for charts, news, and portfolio tracking is costing investors money. Smart traders are now utilizing privacy-first tools like CryptoAppsy to consolidate everything. Without even the hassle of creating an account, you get real-time charts, smart price alerts, coin-specific news, and critical macro data all on one screen.
