Michael Saylor, chair of enterprise analytics company Strategy, renewed speculation about a potential Bitcoin purchase after posting a familiar accumulation chart on X on Sunday. Although he added the caption “Connecting the dots,” Saylor did not reveal the size of a new purchase or provide updated information on the company’s Bitcoin holdings. Bitcoin was trading at approximately $75,900 around the time of his post, hovering just below $76,000.

Strategy’s acquisition signals and official reporting

Sunday’s post reignited discussion among investors due to Saylor’s history of sharing treasury tracker graphics before Strategy discloses new Bitcoin buys. The company typically details its cryptocurrency treasury activities through filings such as the Form 8-K, offering transparency about purchases, prices, and funding sources.

In the absence of an official statement, investors remain attentive to Saylor’s social media updates but are cautious to treat graphics alone as confirmation of a completed deal. Saylor has frequently used this pattern, posting the chart as a precursor to Strategy’s formal activity disclosures, but has left crucial details such as specific coin amounts, average prices, and funding mechanisms for later official filings.

Connecting the dots between the chart post and previous acquisition announcements, market participants continue to wait for confirmation from a new regulatory filing before treating the latest message as proof of another Bitcoin purchase.

The last confirmed acquisition covered the period from October 26 to November 1. During that timeframe, Strategy acquired 811 BTC with an average price of $80,846 per coin, at a total expenditure of $65.5 million. This brought the company’s total reported Bitcoin holdings to 849,327 BTC and increased the aggregate purchase price for its position to $64.08 billion.

At present, the recent online post has not verified that new Bitcoin was added to the company’s treasury. The lack of a formal announcement means the current purchase remains unconfirmed, while the price of Bitcoin continues to trade approximately $449 above Strategy’s blended acquisition cost of $75,451 per coin but remains below the price paid in the latest buy.

Latest financing actions and treasury capacity

Strategy financed its previous acquisition by selling 1,178,552 shares of MSTR common stock under an at-the-market offering, generating $164 million in net proceeds after commissions. Of this, $65.5 million was allocated to the Bitcoin buy, while the remainder was added to the company’s USD Cash reserves.

During the same reporting period, Strategy used existing USD Cash, rather than the issuance of preferred shares, to repurchase 2,092,035 STRC shares for a total of $208.2 million. STRC closed at $99.84, slightly below its $100 stated value on the last trading day of the week.

On November 1, the company reported $4.79 billion in its designated dollar reserve and $132.7 million in separate cash balances. These reserves, supplemented by potential future equity sales, could influence the scale and timing of future cryptocurrency purchases. The next official disclosure will indicate if an additional Bitcoin acquisition or another capital move has occurred.

Strategy, known for its large and ongoing Bitcoin acquisitions, has established a reputation among corporate investors for making notable treasury decisions in the digital asset space. Investors await the company’s next communication to determine whether Saylor’s recent chart post indeed foreshadowed a new transaction.

Mini dictionary: Strategy is a technology and business analytics company that has established itself as one of the most prominent institutional holders of Bitcoin, often using excess cash and equity sales to finance its growing digital asset treasury.
