Strive, a US-based publicly traded company, has increased its Bitcoin treasury to 20,000 BTC after acquiring an additional 79 BTC between July 20 and July 24. The recent purchase, valued at approximately $5.2 million, brings the company’s total reserve to an estimated $1.3 billion based on current market prices.
Strive expands Bitcoin treasury strategy
The average price paid for the latest Bitcoin acquisition was $65,723 per coin, including associated fees. Strive began adopting Bitcoin as a core treasury asset in September 2025, using funds sourced from stock sales to support its ongoing purchasing plan.
Under its currently approved capital program, Strive is authorized to raise up to $4.2 billion. Executives indicated that a significant portion of this capital could be allocated to further Bitcoin purchases as more funds become available.
In January 2026, Strive completed an all-stock merger with Semler Scientific, a firm specializing in healthcare technology. The transaction added over 5,000 BTC to Strive’s holdings without draining its cash reserves, allowing for continued asset accumulation through both acquisitions and fresh purchases.
Following the merger, Strive maintained flexibility to use proceeds from the sales of shares, including ASST and SATA stock, to facilitate additional Bitcoin buys.
Mini dictionary: Semler Scientific is a healthcare technology company. It was acquired by Strive in an all-stock deal, which contributed significantly to Strive’s Bitcoin holdings.
Strong cash position and purchasing outlook
Strive reported cash reserves of $157.4 million in July, a rise from $154.1 million the previous quarter. Despite the increase in cash, the company also disclosed a net loss of $393.6 million over the same period. Strive’s management has stated that their primary aim is to maximize the amount of Bitcoin per share, rather than simply increasing their total BTC count.
Strive’s approach mirrors that of Strategy, recognized as the world’s largest corporate Bitcoin holder with over 843,000 BTC. In addition to Strategy, major holders such as Twenty One Capital and Metaplanet have reported Bitcoin holdings of more than 43,500 and 43,000 BTC respectively; however, Metaplanet has recently paused its purchases.
| Company | Total BTC Holdings | Recent Activity |
|---|---|---|
| Strategy | 843,000 | Paused new purchases |
| Twenty One Capital | 43,500 | Active holder |
| Metaplanet | 43,000 | Paused purchases |
| Strive | 20,000 | Acquired 79 BTC in July 2026 |
Several other firms have begun reducing their Bitcoin exposure. For instance, Satsuma Technology, a company focused on Bitcoin and AI growth, sold 579 BTC in December and recently approved the sale of its remaining 668 BTC. Smarter Web Company and Nakamoto both sold parts of their reserves, while Strategy has paused its own new acquisitions.
Strive’s executives emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong Bitcoin position, leveraging both direct purchases and stock-based transactions to steadily increase their treasury portfolio.
