TRON’s native token TRX has shown notable resilience in recent days, buoyed by record stablecoin activity on its blockchain and a rise in its price over the past week.
Stablecoin activity lifts network metrics
According to Messari’s State of TRON Q2 2026 report released on August 10, TRON’s stablecoin market cap has reached a new all-time high of $89.2 billion, reflecting a 4.1% increase from the previous quarter. Nearly all of this figure is comprised of USDT, with Tether’s stablecoin accounting for $87.9 billion, or 98.5% of the total stablecoin value on the network.
In the second quarter of 2026, TRON processed $2.1 trillion in USDT transfers. These substantial transfer volumes drive demand for network resources, as every transaction consumes bandwidth and energy linked directly to TRX tokens. In turn, activity on the TRON blockchain can influence user demand to spend or stake TRX for transaction fees and resource access.

However, Messari also identified weaker spots, noting that TRON’s DeFi total value locked dropped by 1.9% in Q2, while decentralized exchange (DEX) volume fell 21.7%. This left stablecoin settlement as the standout sector for the network over the quarter.
TRON saw its stablecoin market cap reach $89.2 billion in Q2 2026, with USDT transfers totaling $2.1 trillion for the period, according to Messari.
The focus on stablecoin transactions has placed TRON among the largest platforms for digital dollar transfers, further enhancing the relevance of TRX within the ecosystem.
TRX price climbs above key technical levels
TRX traded between $0.327 and $0.336 during the past seven days, closing at approximately $0.335 on August 12. The token gained around 0.9% in 24 hours and 2.5% over the week. After advancing steadily through $0.330, TRX accelerated higher late on August 11 to briefly trade above $0.336, subsequently retaining most of its recent gains.
Technical analysis shows TRX is now positioned above all its major daily exponential moving averages: the 20-day EMA at $0.3294, the 50-day EMA at $0.3287, the 100-day EMA at $0.3276, and the 200-day EMA at $0.3214. The current arrangement, with the 20-day EMA rising above the 50-day and 100-day EMAs, strengthens the short-term outlook for the token.
| EMA | Level |
|---|---|
| 20-day | $0.3294 |
| 50-day | $0.3287 |
| 100-day | $0.3276 |
| 200-day | $0.3214 |
Despite the improved price structure, the Average Directional Index (ADX) measures trend strength at 13.48, remaining below the 20–25 threshold typically used to confirm a robust directional move. However, the ADX has started to rebound, suggesting momentum could be building if price holds above $0.335.

Key resistance and support zones
TRX is currently testing the upper band of its 21-day Donchian Channel at $0.3351, with the lower band near $0.3247. The price closed just above the upper resistance on August 12, indicating a potential breakout from the recent trading range.
A confirmed daily close above this range shifts attention to the next resistance at $0.340, followed by the $0.350 area, which served as a critical support and resistance region during the market’s May–June correction. If buyers drive TRX above $0.350, the May peak around $0.375 becomes the next major technical target. An advance from $0.335 to $0.375 would mark an estimated 12% gain.
On the downside, immediate support is formed by the EMA cluster between $0.3276 and $0.3294. A drop below this zone would expose the lower Donchian band near $0.3247 and then the 200-day EMA at $0.3214.
The session’s Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) was $0.3349 on August 12, highlighting that TRX traded slightly above the average price for the day. Maintaining a position above the VWAP could keep buyers in control, while a decline beneath it risks eroding the recent breakout.
The technical setup appears supportive for TRX, with the market waiting for either a continued rise above $0.335 or signs of a retreat back into its earlier price range.
