Wall Street brokerage Bernstein reports that the United States, with its comprehensive cryptocurrency regulations, has risen to a defining position in the global digital finance arena. According to the company’s report, the newly implemented GENIUS Act and the CLARITY Act expected to take effect by the end of 2025 will create the first unified market structure for cryptocurrencies. This framework clarifies the authority division between the SEC and CFTC, eliminating long-standing ambiguities and positioning the country as a global cryptocurrency hub.

U.S. Cryptocurrency Regulations Herald New Era

Bernstein analysts state that the most significant step towards ensuring stability in the U.S. cryptocurrency market was taken with SEC Chair Atkins’ “Project Crypto” initiative. This project allows the regular trading of tokenized stocks and bonds outside the purview of securities laws. Within the same framework, licensed brokers will operate both traditional and cryptocurrencies under a single regulatory structure.

The new system aims to modernize in-blockchain transaction infrastructure and 24/7 settlement mechanisms, reducing transaction costs and integrating capital markets with blockchain technology. Analysts highlighted that this clarity reduces the risk of political change, thus restoring confidence among institutional investors.

Institutional Capital and ETFs Bolster the Cryptocurrency Cycle

According to Bernstein data, cryptocurrency ETFs currently manage $160 billion in assets. Approximately a quarter of this amount belongs to institutional investors. During the same period, the supply of stablecoins surpassed $260 billion. The report emphasizes that this capital flow increases both market depth and the pace of digitalization of the financial system.

The return of cryptocurrency companies to the stock exchange is also noteworthy. Since the beginning of 2025, IPOs amounting to $4 billion have occurred. The market valuation has surged from $80 billion at the start of 2024 to $380 billion. The inclusion of giants like Coinbase (COIN) and Robinhood (HOOD) in the S&P 500 index accelerated the integration of cryptocurrencies into mainstream financial structures. Bernstein stated that all these developments create a more sustainable cryptocurrency cycle through the combination of regulation, institutional adoption, and blockchain infrastructure.
