Venus Protocol has launched a new initiative enabling institutional investors to utilize Asseto’s tokenized cash-management fund, CASH+, as collateral within its Institutional Fixed Rate Vault, expanding on-chain real-world asset lending capabilities on BNB Chain.
Asseto’s CASH+ enters Venus Protocol’s institutional vault
Asseto, a provider of tokenized financial products, introduced the CASH+ token to represent institutional cash-management fund exposure on-chain. Through this partnership, CASH+ is now accepted as eligible collateral within Venus Protocol’s structured credit vault for institutions.
United Stables, another participant in the collaboration, has designated its $U stablecoin as the borrowable asset against the CASH+ collateral. This integration allows institutional holders to access on-chain liquidity without liquidating their underlying positions in CASH+, broadening the use of tokenized assets within business lending strategies.
Venus Protocol serves as a decentralized lending infrastructure on BNB Chain, offering various vaults for institutional and retail users to secure liquidity with tokenized assets.
Iris, Head of Venus Protocol, explained the reasoning behind including CASH+ as collateral in the institutional vault.
Tokenized real-world assets should work as active value, not remain idle on-chain. By adding CASH+ as collateral, institutions can unlock liquidity from their RWA holdings and retain their exposure.
Bridget, CEO and co-founder of Asseto, emphasized the company’s focus:
Our goal with CASH+ is to provide institutional-grade cash management on-chain, making it practically useful. Integrating with Venus enables CASH+ to move from a tokenized exposure to a lending collateral that can support on-chain borrowing.
With this launch, Asseto aims to give institutions an efficient way to leverage cash-management exposure in decentralized finance environments.
Mini dictionary: CASH+ is a tokenized version of an institutional cash-management fund that allows investors to gain exposure to traditional cash-management instruments while utilizing their digital representations on blockchain networks for additional activities such as collateralized lending.
Institutional stablecoin borrowing through $U and new liquidity rails
Athena, CEO of United Stables, highlighted the broader utility of stablecoins in institutional finance. She noted that leveraging $U against tokenized collateral such as CASH+ directly connects stablecoin liquidity to on-chain institutional lending, creating expanded credit market opportunities.
The introduction of $U as a borrowable asset in the vault provides institutions greater access to stable, on-chain funds while allowing them to keep their original asset positions intact. This is viewed as an advancement in both risk management and liquidity provisioning for institutional users.
Venus Protocol’s structured lending offering enables tokenized collateral to function within a broader on-chain lending environment. As more real-world assets become available on blockchain networks, such infrastructure determines their practical utility beyond basic tokenization.
| Token | Role in Vault | Issued by | Blockchain |
|---|---|---|---|
| CASH+ | Collateral | Asseto | BNB Chain |
| $U | Borrow Asset | United Stables | BNB Chain |
The collaboration is designed to strengthen BNB Chain’s position as a platform for real-world asset tokenization and institutional credit, while supporting continued innovation in decentralized finance instrument offerings.
Venus Protocol’s CASH+ Institutional Fixed Rate Vault is now open to eligible institutional participants on BNB Chain. Details regarding participation and eligibility are available through Venus Protocol’s official channels.
