Ethereum’s (ETH) co-founder Vitalik Buterin transferred approximately 2,097,000 Starknet (STRK) tokens worth about $850,000 to a wallet address created just two days ago. According to Arkham Intelligence, the transfer occurred recently.

STRK is the core network asset of Starknet, a permissionless validity rollup also known as zero-knowledge rollup for the Ethereum network. This asset is not typically associated with Buterin, who is known for his work with Ethereum and other major blockchain projects.
The purpose behind Buterin’s STRK transfer remains unclear, though he has previously made strategic transactions, including donations and investments in various blockchain projects. Speculations about the reason for this move include potential participation in governance voting, support for a specific project, or a simple portfolio adjustment.

Starknet’s STRK on the Rise
Following Buterin’s transfer, the price of STRK token has surged by 7.06% in the last 24 hours. Despite the relatively stable movement of Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum, the altcoin is trading at $0.4082, up over 7%.
However, STRK is currently priced 88.85% below its all-time high of $3.66 reached on February 20, 2024.
