We often encounter the impressive moves of whales, the indispensable players in the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency world. Their large-scale purchases, sales, and positions frequently become the talk of the crypto world. The periods when they create waves are usually when the market experiences sharp declines or rises. During the declines observed in the first three days of Eid al-Adha, whale activities were also noted. EmberCN and Lookonchain provided updates on whale movements today. Let’s see what actions they have taken.
Whales Make Ethereum Moves
As the market tries to recover from yesterday’s decline, we see whales stepping in and creating positions. EmberCN provided details today about new positions taken by whales, especially for Ethereum.
According to the details, a crypto whale spent 18.49 million USDC to buy 5,214 ETH from the chain in the last hour, with 10 million USDC of it being lent to Aave.
Another whale spent a total of 20.58 million USDC to buy 5,822.6 ETH at an average price of 3,535 dollars in the last 24 hours. Ethereum was trading at 3,552 dollars at the time of writing.
Whales Buy Altcoin CRV
One of the most talked-about topics last week was the sharp decline in the altcoin CRV. In such a situation, the CRV founder inevitably took actions to prevent his position from being liquidated, making significant sales and borrowing.
After securing his CRV loan position, the Curve founder bought 4.34 million CRV at a price of 0.287 dollars and currently has a profit of 280 thousand dollars. The interesting point here is that whales significantly capitalized on the decline in CRV. According to Lookonchain, four wallets withdrew 42.4 million CRV from the crypto exchange Binance in the past two days. The total value of the withdrawn CRV was approximately 14.9 million dollars.
Whales’ desire to capitalize on declines indicates they are in search of opportunities in the crypto world. Their expectations might provide a clue for the future. However, there are times when whales also suffer significant losses. Therefore, it is not possible to make a definitive judgment about the outcome of whale activities.
