Yield Guild Games (YGGs) are a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) investing in non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in the digital world. The organization aims to develop the world’s largest digital economy, maximize utility, and share revenues with stakeholders by optimizing their assets.
What is Yield Guild Games (YGG)?
In decentralized gaming, Yield Guild Games has created a community of players and investors earning through investment in NFTs used in digital realms and blockchain-based games. The DAO’s main income comes from a leasing scheme whereby guild members use assets, part of the in-game rewards going directly to YGG in return. Third parties (non-guild members) can also generate income by conducting economic activities on these in-game assets, such as land.
NFT ownership will benefit from an increase in the economic value of the in-game asset, which is reflected in the NFT’s open market value. The game also includes a play-to-earn feature, where users receive native tokens for in-game activity.
Yield Guild Game’s backing company is a Manila-based gaming studio founded by Gabby Dizon, part of the team that launched the Axie Infinity and Yearn Finance Communities. Beryl Li and Owl of Moistness founded the game studio. Beryl Li is an entrepreneur, a graduate of Cambridge University, and was also the president of the Cryptocurrency Society in 2016.
Today, the Yield Guild Game team has expanded to over 20 members, led by Nolan Manalo (also known as Nate) at the helm of game operations.
