The World Economic Forum (WEF) will hold its 54th annual meeting starting from January 15 in Davos, Switzerland. The five-day meeting will be attended by representatives from over 100 governments, major international organizations, 1000 partner companies, as well as civil society leaders, social entrepreneurs, and media from around the world.
2024 WEF Conference Themes
The main topics of the 2024 WEF conference will be “Rebuilding Trust” amidst geopolitical tensions, changing economic policies, and rapid technological developments. The event will address six critical themes: economic resilience, energy transformation, globalization, productive artificial intelligence, empowering institutions, and women’s health.
While focusing on social and global issues in 2024, blockchain and crypto-based solutions have been increasingly discussed at global events in recent years. However, the main focus of this year’s meeting will be the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in our daily lives and the shift towards the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA).
Artificial Intelligence to Mark the Meeting
Some of the most notable sessions related to these topics include a public conference on the tokenization of the economy titled “The Tokenization Economy” scheduled for January 17. Another panel planned for January 18, “Clear-Eyed about Crypto,” will focus on the future of crypto assets and the role of regulators in protecting consumers while also promoting the industry’s innovation.
The discussion will center on the fundamental principles of tokenization, how it can be used, and the direction technology is heading. Important figures from the crypto market, such as Circle CEO Jeremy and Stellar Development Foundation CEO Denelle Dixon, will also attend the meeting.
In 2023, following the artificial intelligence process initiated by OpenAI’s product ChatGPT, many significant companies and figures continue to make important contributions in this field. However, particularly after security issues on social media platforms, governments are taking notable steps towards the field of artificial intelligence.
Especially the Italian government’s ban on ChatGPT in the country is one of the most significant steps taken in this field, aiming to regulate the field of artificial intelligence and ensure users benefit from the industry in a secure internet environment through legal regulations.
