XRP whales moved a total of approximately 1.669 billion tokens to Binance over the past 30 days, marking the largest influx from large holders in the past seven months as XRP traded near $1.30.
Record Whale Inflows Drive Binance Activity
CryptoQuant analyst Arab Chain reported that the cumulative inflow of XRP to Binance wallets over 30 days climbed past the previous high recorded in September, which totaled around 1.65 billion XRP. This surge suggests renewed activity among significant market participants.
The transferred tokens, priced at roughly $1.33 per XRP, amounted to about $2.22 billion. This figure represents deposits over a 30-day span rather than direct evidence of completed sales.
CryptoQuant’s whale inflow metric aggregates the volume of XRP sent from large wallets to Binance over a rolling 30-day period. After peaking in September and declining, this metric rebounded in mid-October, adding about 19 million more XRP compared to the previous peak.
A shift in whale behavior has accompanied these inflows. Earlier in October, the percentage of large holders in total exchange withdrawals dropped by 27% in eight days after previously reaching 82% of outgoing transfers.
It is important to note that inflow and withdrawal metrics track different activities. While withdrawals from exchanges often reflect buying or custody decisions, inflows boost the amount of XRP that could be sold or traded quickly on Binance.
Renewed inflows do not necessarily signal immediate selling, but they increase the available supply that could be traded if whales choose to liquidate their assets.
$2.2 Billion Moves: What It Means for Market Pressure
Large holders typically use centralized exchanges like Binance to facilitate trading, rebalance portfolios, or manage collateral across crypto and traditional markets.
An increase in whale deposits may heighten the risk of selling pressure, particularly when liquidity is thin. However, on-chain transfers do not prove that all deposited XRP has been sold.
These developments coincide with a broader rise in tracked XRP reserves on exchanges.
From October 12 to 15, exchange wallets accumulated an additional 83.94 million XRP, bringing their total to about 22.06 billion tokens. Binance alone saw reserves grow by approximately 54.61 million XRP during the week ending October 15.
CryptoQuant’s whale inflow data and exchange reserve changes measure distinct but related activities. Deposits add to exchange balances, while net reserve changes reflect both deposits and withdrawals over defined periods.
As a result, not all of the cumulative 1.669 billion XRP in whale deposits necessarily remained on Binance after accounting for withdrawals.
| Metric | Amount | Period | Exchange |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cumulative Whale Deposits | 1.669 billion XRP | 30 days | Binance |
| Exchange Reserve Increase | 83.94 million XRP | Oct 12-15 | All exchanges |
| Binance Reserve Growth | 54.61 million XRP | 7 days to Oct 15 | Binance |
XRP Price Outlook Remains Cautious Amid Whale Activity
The influx of large whale transfers appeared as XRP traded near $1.31, raising questions about whether a larger exchange supply could challenge market stability.
Meanwhile, demand from institutional investors has grown less predictable. Recent outflows from XRP ETF products occurred alongside withdrawals from prominent Ethereum and Solana investment funds, though the reported totals for XRP varied among data providers.
Previously, XRP-backed investment vehicles had attracted steady inflows for 13 consecutive weeks, underscoring that institutional interest does not always move in tandem with price trends.
If future whale deposits result in continuous selling, XRP may experience further downward price momentum. Alternatively, declining inflows paired with resilient buying interest could ease negative sentiment.
Recent data confirm an uptick in whale activity, but not a coordinated mass selloff. Short-term market direction will depend on actual exchange flows, trading volume, and broader price movements in $XRP.
