South Korean social media personality YoungHoon Kim, who has gained notoriety by claiming the world’s highest IQ at 276, has released a series of strong predictions about the future of cryptocurrency, placing XRP at the center of his forecasts. Kim is known for his active presence on X (formerly Twitter), where he discusses Bitcoin, XRP, and various shifts in the digital asset market with hundreds of thousands of followers.
XRP advocacy and eye-catching forecasts
Recently, Kim intensified his support for XRP by dubbing himself the “Son of XRP,” and became the focus of attention through public claims about dramatically higher future prices for the token. He asserted that he was “born to send XRP to $100” and insisted that “no one can stop” this mission.
Kim’s history of predictions has often centered on rapid price appreciation for XRP. He has previously argued that this token could reach $100 within five years, a target that would represent a drastic leap from its current value of $1.32. Such a price movement would require an increase of more than 7,000% based on recent trading data.
Alongside his XRP views, Kim also presented a series of broader market outlooks. He announced that “altseason” was confirmed, indicating his belief that alternative cryptocurrencies are entering a new growth phase. In the same set of posts, he described Bitcoin as “basically a meme coin,” and predicted meme-themed tokens would see gains ahead of mainstream assets.
“I am the SON OF XRP. Born to send XRP to $100. No one can stop me.”
XRP, also known as Ripple, is a digital currency widely used for cross-border payments, featuring quick settlement times and relatively low fees compared to some other blockchains.
Skepticism grows as track record faces scrutiny
Kim’s latest declarations have drawn mixed reactions. Some cite his claimed IQ score as a reason to pay attention, while others have questioned the reliability and credibility of both his crypto forecasting and his self-reported intelligence.
Earlier this year, Kim predicted that Bitcoin’s price would reach $100,000 within 48 hours, a figure never realized. Instead, Bitcoin’s value fell from $93,747 and closed at $91,099 during the referenced period. His outlooks for XRP and Bitcoin reaching all-time highs by specific dates in 2025 and 2026 also did not materialize, leaving followers skeptical about the feasibility of his new XRP target.
A July 2025 inquiry by VICE further challenged Kim’s IQ claims. Consistent doubts have been raised by experts within the high-IQ community regarding his reported test scores. Chris Leek of Mensa described the claim as unsound, and Australian psychometrician Jason Betts recalculated the figure to not exceed 175 on typical scales.
Kim’s supporters, including members of the GIGA Society Professional, have argued that the 276 IQ figure can be derived if using a different standard deviation, though an academic pre-print supporting that measurement was later withdrawn. Kim continues to respond to criticism by referencing his methodology and maintaining his advocacy for XRP and the broader crypto sector.
