ZachXBT, a well-known figure among cryptocurrency investors, has made a name for himself in many significant events. This person, who is like the forensic expert of crypto, examines incidents, conducts in-depth investigations, and identifies the culprits behind them. Although not always, his research has been included in many major cases in the United States.
Beware of North Koreans
North Korea is a closed country that needs to develop war tools to threaten its enemies. It seeks interesting ways to finance this, and cryptocurrency has been one of these ways for years. If you are a good hacker in North Korea, you can achieve a higher status and a more comfortable life. This sets you apart from ordinary people and places you in a good position under the country’s conditions.
North Korean youths are aware of this and try to advance themselves in cybercrime. For better internet access, better earnings, a better home, and much more, one of the best things they can do is this.
They hack crypto protocols, empty investor wallets, and deliver these earnings to the North Korean government. Therefore, they have no fear of being arrested. Piracy has almost turned into a civil service there. The most famous organization is Lazarus. This North Korean hacking group has been involved in many major incidents, one of the most well-known being the Ronin bridge attack, which caused losses of hundreds of millions of dollars.
Warning Crypto Investors
We mentioned that North Korea (DPRK) takes help from crypto thieves for its nuclear program. Recent news indicates that attackers are heavily applying for jobs at crypto companies. They apply with different identities and conquer the companies from within. A user wrote the following:
“The person behind the Indexed Finance governance attack is also North Korean. Earlier this month, the wallet ending in 0x9b9, which belongs to him, showed suspicious behavior. He was fired from all duties and is claimed to be a DPRK IT worker. Alex Chon, who is claimed to be a DPRK IT worker, has changed his Github username many times.”
Zach thinks they are not as smart as they are believed to be (implying they are stupid). He gave an example on this and wrote the following:
“Example: Light Fury (@lee_chienhui)
A DPRK IT worker who transferred over $300,000 to Kim Sang Man, who is on the OFAC sanctions list, from a public ENS address.
Fake Name: Gary Lee
Nickname: Light Fury
GitHub: Light-Fury
Telegram: leech_dev
Number: +1 639 389 9***
Fake email: leech.developer@gmail
Wallet address
lightfury.eth

Example 2: Other four DPRK IT workers involved in the $62.5 million hack incident in the Munchables team.
Example 3: Holy Pengy, who attempted hostile governance attacks on multiple projects.”
After the last post, Spreek wrote the following to Zach to mock the situation:
“Hello
I am a full stack developer with over 5 years of experience in web and blockchain development.
I have developed DEX, AI, DeFi, and NFT marketplaces, and my role is smart contract development and web3 integration.
If you have any projects or new job opportunities, please contact me.”
Zach both amused and wrote the actual response of those who fall into their trap.
“Since I am a founder with no technical knowledge, let me give you full control over all contracts!”
