Shiba Inu (SHIB) community’s official Discord account manager, known as DaVinci, shared the 2024 plans while celebrating the new year with the SHIB army on the “Shibarium Tech” channel on Telegram. It seems that the new year will bring many innovations to the Shiba Inu world and developments that will change the rules of the game.
2024 Will Be an Important Year for Shiba Inu
DaVinci addressed the global Shiba Inu community, praising them as the most valuable players. This praise stems from the community’s continued unity despite various difficulties in recent times. He also emphasized that the community’s support is the backbone of the project’s Layer 2 network, Shibarium.
DaVinci then moved on to what the developer team has prepared for 2024, underlining that the new year will be one that changes many things in the Shiba Inu world. He highlighted that the Shiba Inu team plans to introduce serious developments and game-changing elements, saying, “The Shibarium team is behind you, and we are preparing for an incredible journey together.”
DaVinci stated that 2024 will be another year of pushing boundaries and accumulating significant moments, inviting the SHIB army to help make the new year unforgettable.
Millions of SHIB Tokens Burned in 2023
Shibburn, a platform that tracks SHIB burns in Shiba Inu, shared that 76.403 billion SHIB tokens were transferred to an unspendable wallet address throughout 2023. An on-chain data provider added that the token burn rate for SHIB increased by an astonishing 2,552 percent in the last 24 hours. During this time, a total of 129.71 million SHIB tokens were moved to unusable wallet addresses.
Furthermore, these burned tokens were carried out by an average Shiba Inu community through SHIB burning operations. The Shiba Inu developer team also played a significant role in burning SHIB by transferring more than 36 billion SHIB to unspendable wallet addresses during November and December of last year. These were done through four transactions, each removing approximately 8.5 billion SHIB from circulation.
The SHIB burned by the team came from transaction fees allocated by the team on Shibarium. Although these fees were paid in BONE tokens, they were later converted to SHIB and burned.
