SHIB burn rate hits monthly high

Data from Shibburn, a tracker specializing in the monitoring of Shiba Inu token burns, indicated that the SHIB burn rate soared by 428,862% over the past 24 hours. This substantial spike marks the highest daily increase for the token burn metric so far this month.

Despite high-profile burns being relatively common in the Shiba Inu ecosystem, such a dramatic percentage increase is seldom observed. Analysts have noted that this surge followed a period of notably subdued burn activity, making the change even more pronounced.

While the burn rate expansion is significant, the actual token count destroyed over the past day remains modest compared to earlier daily averages during more active periods.

In total, Shiba Inu holders burned 1.4 million SHIB tokens within the past day. The abrupt jump comes after several days of slowed activity, which has apparently led to the exceptionally high percentage change now captured in daily metrics.

Shiba Inu’s strategy of regular token burning is intended to reduce circulating supply, with the aim of enhancing scarcity and potentially supporting price action over time.

Mini dictionary: Shibburn, an independent platform tracking the burning of Shiba Inu tokens, provides regular updates on the number of tokens sent to non-retrievable “burn” addresses, effectively removing them from circulation.

SHIB price and market recovery

Coinciding with the dramatic increase in token burning, the broader cryptocurrency market has begun to recover from the volatility experienced in the previous week. This positive shift in sentiment appears to have impacted Shiba Inu’s market performance as well.

In the same 24-hour period, SHIB’s price rose by approximately 3%, nearing the $0.000005 mark. This level is viewed by some analysts as a key support-resistance region within short-term trading patterns.

The alignment of increased network activity and renewed price momentum has prompted speculation in the community regarding the possibility of a new rally emerging if current trends persist.

Some market participants will continue to monitor the token burn activity and price levels to assess whether the current uptick signals a sustained rebound or merely a short-term fluctuation.
