As the crypto community anticipates the halving event, attention continues to stay on the market’s high-volume altcoins. The renowned figure in the market, The Flow Horse, has made a significant comparison between the past year’s standout, Solana, and Ethereum.
Ethereum or Solana?
The experienced crypto expert has issued a warning that Ethereum‘s (ETH) existence as the dominant smart contract platform in the market may not be as solid as many investors believe.
The Flow Horse shared with thousands of followers that Ethereum could potentially end up like Compaq Computer Corporation, which was at the top of its field before being acquired by HP in 2002.
He also added that the scenario of Ethereum losing to Solana (SOL) is “definitely growing.”
“The likelihood of Solana overtaking Ethereum has definitely increased. Current trends and sentiments among ETH’s most loyal supporters point to a natural mean reversion expectation in favor of ETH. However, considering how new the crypto market is, it’s too early to declare any platform as the definitive leader. Like Compaq in the early days of personal computing, ETH may be leading now, but this doesn’t guarantee its lasting dominance.”
The Flow Horse also commented on Solana, noting that Ethereum’s competitor is keeping an eye on the explosive meme coin ecosystem on its network, which has led to a significant increase in volume on Solana-based decentralized exchanges (DEXs).
Indeed, in the past month, Solana’s meme coin ecosystem has been elevated to a whole new level. Both high-volume meme coins and some newly launched projects have gained massive market volumes.
Solana’s Meme Coins
The Flow Horse pointed out that attention should be paid to a new memecoin called Cat in a Dog’s World (MEW), which he said could become more popular on Coinbase before Solana’s largest meme coin, Dogwifhat (WIF).
“At this rate, MEW looks like it might get listed on Coinbase before WIF. Jokes aside, don’t overlook a project that comes out of nowhere with a stacked book and strangely high market value.”
As of the time of writing, Solana’s price was found at $192.77, while MEW was trading in the region of $0.005582.
