Crypto markets are preparing for a week dense with economic updates, as global investors track key monetary policy events and corporate results between July 20 and 24, 2026. Although no major crypto-only developments are expected, signals from traditional markets are likely to influence the digital asset landscape.

ECB decision and inflation data in focus

The European Central Bank will reveal its latest monetary policy decision on Thursday, July 23, at 13:45 CET, followed by a press conference led by President Christine Lagarde at 14:30 CET. Market participants are closely monitoring whether persistent inflation in the eurozone will prompt further policy tightening or changes to the interest rate outlook.

Wage growth and ongoing energy price pressures remain central concerns for investors trading European assets. The ECB’s stance could affect liquidity conditions across global risk markets, including cryptocurrencies.

Key US economic releases

In the United States, a series of noteworthy releases is scheduled. On July 20, the Conference Board will publish its Leading Economic Index for June, which tracks patterns in economic activity.

Weekly jobless claims from the US Department of Labor are due on Thursday, with economists forecasting 212,000 new applications for unemployment benefits, up from 208,000 the previous week. Movements in this data provide insight into the health of the US labor market and may shape investor sentiment toward risk assets like cryptocurrencies.

Investors anticipate that economic readings such as the Leading Economic Index and weekly jobless claims could shape risk appetite and influence digital asset flows during the week.

Friday, July 24 delivers several important data points, including S&P Global’s preliminary July Services Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) at 9:45 AM ET, expected to tick down to 51.1 from June’s 51.2. At the same time, the Manufacturing PMI is projected to climb to 54.4 from 53.9, pointing to further strength in the industrial sector.

The Commerce Department will also publish June new home sales at 10:00 AM ET, with sales projected to rise to an annualized rate of 600,000 units compared to 580,000 in May.

Global inflation updates

Inflation developments are also a point of attention. The UK will release its June Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation report on Wednesday, July 22, at 7:00 a.m. UTC, drawing interest from those watching the Bank of England’s approach to rate policy. On Friday, July 24, Japan will publish its June national CPI at 8:30 a.m. JST, which could influence perspectives on the Bank of Japan’s monetary stance.

Major corporate earnings and crypto sentiment

Several leading US technology companies will announce earnings, with Tesla and Alphabet, the parent company of Google, set to report on Wednesday, July 22. Intel, a key chipmaker, will announce its results on Thursday, July 23. These companies are watched for their influence on technology trends and overall risk tolerance in global markets.

Crypto assets have often moved in tandem with global equities, especially around major economic or policy-related events. Investors are paying attention to this week’s schedule for potential clues about liquidity trends, dollar dynamics, and shifts in market sentiment.

While digital assets have their own market drivers, periods of high correlation with stocks and changes in global monetary policy have historically impacted crypto performance.

Beyond the macro events, crypto followers will also pay attention to any notable sector updates throughout the week involving major protocols and infrastructure plays.
