XRP investor Edo Farina has identified a notable on-chain trend that he believes could signal a major shift in XRP’s market trajectory. In a recent video shared by Crypto Investor King Karan on X, Farina compared the current activity of major XRP wallets to patterns observed just before XRP’s surge following the 2019 bear market.
Large wallet accumulation signals growing interest
Farina pointed to a steady increase in the number of XRP wallets holding at least 1 million tokens, which has climbed from around 2,006 to 2,038 in recent months. He considers this growth significant, suggesting that substantial holders are taking advantage of the current subdued market by accumulating more XRP, while many retail holders appear to be losing confidence.
Farina described this activity as reminiscent of the accumulation phase he witnessed in 2019, where large wallet address growth preceded a rally. Back then, XRP traded below $0.17 before quickly climbing to more than $1.80 within a few months. This experience continues to shape his strategy, leading him to prioritize on-chain data over day-to-day price movements or prevailing market sentiment.
Farina notes that despite widespread disappointment in XRP’s short-term price, “large wallets are once again quietly accumulating while smaller holders are exiting. This on-chain pattern is similar to what occurred just ahead of XRP’s previous major upward movement.”
While Farina acknowledges investors cannot directly identify the owners of large wallets, he maintains that their accumulation trend is clear from blockchain data. However, he cautions against assuming that these purchases are solely linked to institutions or particular entities, as wallet identities remain unknown.
Pessimism persists among retail holders
According to Farina, the market remains gripped by doubt, with some participants expressing frustration over XRP’s prolonged lack of positive price action and placing blame on Ripple and its management team. Nevertheless, Farina argues that persistent negativity often coincides with important accumulation phases among larger players.
He also seeks to distance himself from crowd sentiment, favoring objective on-chain verification over rhetoric circulating among retail investors. For him, the increase in high-balance XRP wallets is a more meaningful indicator than commentary on social media or market forums.
Regulatory impact debated as focus shifts to real utility
Farina does not expect short-term regulation, including the CLARITY Act, to be the key driver of XRP price action. He stated that although regulatory clarity remains important for long-term adoption, legislative changes are unlikely to generate immediate surges in value for XRP. Instead, Farina believes the token’s path will be shaped by its utility in financial settlement and development of use cases on the XRP Ledger.
Farina explains that legislation alone is unlikely to dictate XRP’s long-term trajectory, emphasizing instead the importance of decentralized ledger technology, artificial intelligence, and evolving institutional adoption over the coming years.
He encourages investors to distinguish between speculation and verifiable blockchain metrics, insisting that personal research and careful data analysis are critical for navigating current market conditions. Farina reiterates that his analysis is not financial advice and that every investor should conduct independent due diligence before making decisions.
As on-chain data becomes increasingly central to trading and investment strategies, traditional market structures are also shifting. While conventional financial systems rely on multi-layered brokers and intermediaries, a growing movement is underway as Wall Street transitions to Web3 solutions. Platforms such as 1stepSwap now allow investors to hold tokenized versions of prominent US equities, gold, and silver directly within their crypto wallets. By enabling real-world assets to be tokenized and instantly matched to the best available prices, these platforms aim to reduce barriers and bypass traditional middlemen altogether.
Farina concludes that these combined trends in wallet distribution and technology adoption reinforce the value of direct, transparent access to financial markets, signaling a new era for both crypto and traditional asset holders.
